Privacy Policy — Supplier Catalog
Last updated: 24 September 2026
Supplier Catalog is a product and supplier catalogue management application associated with Swastik Associate.
This Privacy Policy explains how Supplier Catalog accesses, uses, stores, transmits, and protects information when users use the application.
1. Information stored on the device
Supplier Catalog is designed primarily as an offline-first application.
Information users enter into the application may be stored locally on their device, including:
- product names and descriptions
- SKU and barcode information
- categories and subcategories
- wholesale price, MRP, selling price, GST, profit and margin information
- supplier names and supplier codes
- supplier contact-person information
- phone and WhatsApp numbers
- supplier city, state and address information
- supplier type and MOQ information
- supplier website and social-media links
- product notes and sourcing information
- product photographs selected from the gallery or captured using the device camera
This information is used to provide the catalogue-management functions requested by the user.
2. Product photos and files
Supplier Catalog may access product photographs when the user:
- takes a photograph using the camera; or
- selects photographs from the device photo library.
The application can generate files such as:
- PDF catalogues
- JPG product-detail images
- CSV files
- Excel/XLSX files
- ZIP packages
- JSON manifest files
- product export folders
These files are generated as part of user-requested catalogue and export functions.
3. Google Drive access
Google Drive integration is optional.
Supplier Catalog accesses Google Drive only when the user chooses to connect Google Drive or export files or folders to Google Drive.
The application requests the following Google OAuth permission:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file
This is limited file access.
Supplier Catalog does not request permission to view or manage the user's entire Google Drive.
The permission is used to:
- create Google Drive folders requested by the user
- upload product photographs and generated catalogue files
- update application-created export folders during re-export
- open application-created folders in Google Drive
Google Drive exports are initiated by the user.
Supplier Catalog is not designed to perform automatic full-Drive backup or synchronization.
4. Google account information
When Google Drive is connected, Supplier Catalog may receive or display limited account information required for the Drive connection, such as the Google account email address.
The application may locally store non-secret metadata required for Drive export management, including:
- connected account information
- Google Drive folder identifiers
- export timestamps
- export status
OAuth access tokens are not intentionally stored as permanent catalogue data.
5. How information is transmitted
Most catalogue information remains on the user's device unless the user chooses an export or sharing action.
Information may leave the device when the user explicitly chooses actions such as:
- exporting to Google Drive
- sharing product images
- sharing PDFs or ZIP files
- saving files through an Android document provider
- opening an external application or service
Google Drive API communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections.
6. External applications and links
Supplier Catalog may allow users to open third-party applications or services including:
- Google Drive
- Google Maps
- phone dialer
- web browser
- supplier websites
- YouTube
Supplier Catalog does not control the privacy practices of these third-party services. Users should review the privacy policies of those services.
7. Device permissions
Supplier Catalog requests only permissions required for enabled features.
Depending on the Android version and feature being used, these may include:
- Camera permission for taking product photographs
- Internet/network access for Google Drive and external links
Supplier Catalog does not intentionally request access to:
- contacts
- SMS messages
- call history
- microphone
- precise or approximate device location
Opening a supplier-provided map link does not require Supplier Catalog to collect the user's device location.
8. Phone and WhatsApp actions
When a user taps a phone action, Supplier Catalog opens the Android dialer. The application does not automatically place the phone call.
When a user taps a WhatsApp action, Supplier Catalog opens WhatsApp or an appropriate web link. The application does not automatically send a message.
9. Data sharing
Supplier Catalog does not sell user catalogue data.
Supplier Catalog does not operate an advertising network and does not use user catalogue information for targeted advertising.
User information is transmitted to third-party services only when required for a feature explicitly initiated by the user, such as exporting to Google Drive or sharing a file.
10. Data retention
Local catalogue information remains on the user's device until the user edits, deletes, restores, clears, or uninstalls application data according to the available application and Android controls.
Generated local export files may remain until deleted by the user or cleaned through the application's storage-management functions.
Files exported to Google Drive remain in the user's Google Drive until the user deletes them from Google Drive.
Disconnecting Supplier Catalog from Google Drive does not automatically delete previously exported files.
11. Data deletion
Supplier Catalog does not currently require users to create a separate Supplier Catalog account.
Users can manage or delete locally stored catalogue information using application functions such as:
- product deletion and Trash
- supplier/product management
- local export cleanup
- backup and restore controls
- Android application-data controls
Users can delete Google Drive exports directly from their own Google Drive.
12. Security
Supplier Catalog is designed to minimize unnecessary transmission of catalogue information.
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect application data, including limited OAuth permissions and encrypted network communication for Google Drive requests.
However, no device, storage system, or internet transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Children's privacy
Supplier Catalog is a business/product catalogue application intended for adults and is not designed for children.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when Supplier Catalog features, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party integrations change.
The current policy will remain available at this page.
